Directed by Professor Jamie Shea (former NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary-General for Emerging Security Challenges) this unique one-year Master’s program provides students and professionals with comprehensive knowledge and policy-oriented skills at the intersection of peace, security and strategic studies. Designed, led and taught by an international network of leading international academics from top universities and think tanks as well as senior policy-makers from the United Nations, NATO and the European Union, this program enables students interested in an international career in government, international organizations, think tanks or NGOs to gain unique theoretical foundations, practical skill-sets, and high-level contacts.... A one-year intensive MA Program

This unique one-year Master’s program provides students and professionals with comprehensive knowledge and policy-oriented skills at the intersection of diplomacy and global governance. Both diplomacy and global governance are important institutions of the international order; but they are also the institutions undergoing permanent processes of change in the modern and at times turbulent world.

No institution has undergone the greater change in both our theoretical understanding of it and the nature of its day-to-day practice in the last several decades than diplomacy. No process has become more important than our ability, or often lack of it, to engage on transnational policy making by international collective action problem solving while at the same time becoming so highly contested and politicized.... The study programme focuses on research and development. The close proximity of the chemical industry and the Port of Antwerp create perfect circumstances to organize an internationally oriented master programme. Professors and guest speakers from industry share knowledge and experience from their own daily professional life in business and research. In this way, you gain direct insight into how chemistry is interwoven with different economic sectors in our society and what your role can be.

Besides the contact with professionals, you will have the opportunity to do an internship to strengthen the connection between your academic education and your future professional life.
