Development studies provide knowledge linking to global development processes and their inter-relationship from a multidisciplinary, social science perspective. Central questions that are addressed include theories of development and underdevelopment, globalisation and the international economic system, foreign assistance, North-South relations and the poverty problem.

A landlocked country found in the Central Europe region with Hungarian as their official language. The country’s mathematics and science approach are outstanding. It homes the world’s first technology institute. It is here that the first steam engine in Europe was built back in 1722.

Budapest is the capital city of Hungary and the ninth largest in the European Union. As the largest in the country, it serves as a center for commercial and industrial activities among others. It has close to twenty institutions of higher learning within its borders.

The serious ethnic conflicts of the region, the demand for countries to meet European norms in the area of minority issues, the increase in migration, and the simultaneous growth of xenophobia, anti-Semitism, and homophobia all contribute to a pressing need in Eastern and Central Europe for highly trained professionals who have the insight and expertise to identify the main political, social and psychological reasons behind tensions and discriminations and who are also equipped with the skills and techniques to handle and moderate these conflicts. -
