What is an MA in Conservation? A program in conservation usually focuses on teaching scholars the processes and approaches to conserving natural resources, environmental situations, plants and wildlife. Courses usually help program participants learn more about prevalent environmental concerns, studying and researching issues and creating solutions to these issues. Topics in a program may include biological diversity, wildlife systems, conservation biology and conservation management. Programs may require a research project or other project that showcases a scholar’s in-depth research into a chosen area.

A conservation master’s degree program can help students develop several skills that can enable them to work in the field of conservation at all levels. They may be prepared to find positions in government agencies and with private conservation groups.

When it comes to program costs, it can be difficult to give an estimate due to variances between schools and programs. The best place to inquire about cost is with schools and programs that interest you the most.

Graduates of a conversation program may be prepared to work at all levels of government and in organizations focused on preserving the environment. Natural resource protection positions are often a good choice for graduates, along with work in research or education. Students may also find jobs as conservation scientists or natural resources managers. Program participants may also wish to expand their studies or go into a more focused area of conservation by entering a PhD program.
