Program Description

The primary goal of the Master of Arts in Counselor Education: Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling program is to prepare professionally educated and trained counselors to work as Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors in a variety of settings. Students in the program will be provided with: a common core of professional counseling com­potencies based on national standards, specialized studies in the field of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling and supervised experiences in alcohol and drug abuse counseling.
