The Master's program in Dutch Studies / Dutch Studies welcomes students from home and abroad, and is practiced in Leiden in the full multidisciplinary breadth, from the Middle Ages to the present. The subject content covers all areas in the world where Dutch language and culture play or play a role and is placed in an international and interdisciplinary context. You can research your favorite author or translated literature, study changes in the Dutch language, engage in the argumentative and rhetorical aspects of language use, or get to know the history and art history of the Low Countries. Within your specialization, you will be immersed in topics that are consistent with current research themes.
After completion of the master's program, chances are that you will find work at a company or institution as an editor, language consultant or communication specialist. Depending on your previous education and the choices you make, the first grade teacher is within reach.
