Joint Master of Psychology (Clinical) Degree with University of Melbourne
The Joint Clinical Psychology Master degree Programme between the University of Melbourne and NUS (NUS-UM Programme) is a two-year full-time coursework programme, which provides entry level training for graduates who seek a professional career in Clinical Psychology.
It is based on the scientist-practitioner approach and builds on theoretical knowledge and core competencies for clinical practice. It is taught through coursework, research and practical placement experience.
Students take courses at the University of Melbourne during their first year of study and return to NUS in their second year to complete the remaining modules and clinical placements.
The Joint Programme will run in partnership with UM. Teaching and vacation periods will be consistent with UM academic calendar which commences in March and terminates in December. As such, students will be admitted in Semester 2 of the NUS teaching calendar, which is Semester 1 of the UM teaching calendar. To accommodate clinical placements, some modifications to examination and vacation periods may be made.
During the first year, students will complete seven core modules at UM. In the second year, students will complete the remaining three modules, thesis and four clinical placements (see below) in Singapore.
