The Master's Degree in Applied French Language (UCM / Sorbonne Université) and Teacher Training (UCM) is a double degree of 118 ECTS, leading to a triple diploma. Students, normally from undergraduate studies carried out at the Spanish university, will take the first two semesters, equivalent to an academic course of about 40 weeks duration, at the UCM. The third semester, about 20 weeks long, will take place at the Sorbonne Université. This University Master's Degree is empowering and professionalizing. It enables both to attend competitions of teachers of Secondary and Official School of Languages as well as to occupy positions in bilingual private and primary and secondary schools.

Recipients

  1. Students in possession of a Degree in Modern Languages (French major) or in Translation and Interpretation (Language B French), or a degree in French Philosophy.
  2. Students in possession of another Spanish Bachelor's Degree (240 ECTS) in the Humanities field or another equivalent degree.

This University Master's Degree is aimed at students who like teaching French as a Foreign Language (FLE) and who wish to exercise it both in Spain and abroad; that they be enterprising and attracted by the management of cultural and training projects in francophone institutions and companies; show interest in improving their knowledge of the French language and culture to apply it to their professional career; that they are interested in the challenges of this multilingual and intercultural communication society and want to participate in it as privileged interlocutors; Let them think that the information and communication technologies applied to the French language and culture can open new doors for them; who like working with texts: their analysis, interpretation, creation, translation and editing and wish to study French language, literature and culture in depth for future research, such as a PhD.

The Universidad Complutense de Madrid offers the possibility of a double professionalizing and enabling degree: the Master's Degree in Applied French Language (UCM / Sorbonne Université) and Teacher Training (UCM). This triple path of University Master's studies will allow you to take part in the examinations for Secondary School Teachers and Official Language School in Spain, occupy a teaching position in private and concerted bilingual centers and specialize in Applied French Language.

Admission requirements for masters

Non-enabling university masters

  • Be in possession of any of the following titles:
    • Spanish official university degree .
    • Title issued by an institution of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and empowering in the country of issue for access to Master's education.
    • Title of educational systems outside the EHEA that empowers in the country of issuance for access to Master's education, homologated or declared equivalent to the degree and academic level of Degree or Degree by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training . In case of lacking the mentioned homologation or equivalency, it will be necessary to have authorization or access permission granted by this University.
  • Or be carrying out during the course in which you pre-enroll studies leading to the obtaining of any of the previous degrees and be in a position to prove the obtaining of the same before September 30, 2020 .
  • In addition, students from foreign educational systems, whose mother tongue is different from Spanish, must prove level B2 of the Spanish language (or higher) .
