Master's Scholarship: see relevant information here .AboutThe Master of Initiation to Research in Mental Health is an official and blended interuniversity program , organized by research groups belonging to five Spanish universities (University of Cantabria (UC); Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM); Autonomous University of Barcelona ( UAB); University of Barcelona (UB) and University of Cádiz (UCA)) and which are part of a national networked research structure, known as CIBERSAM.
Its mission is to improve clinical care related to the mental health of our society through the knowledge generated by innovation and translational research in psychiatry and neuroscience. The Master is aimed at national and international students with an interest in research in psychiatry and mental health.

goalsThe University Master's Degree in Mental Health Research is an official and blended inter-university program, organized by research groups belonging to five Spanish universities and which are part of a national research structure in Mental Health, known as CIBERSAM.
Its main objectives are:Achieve that students develop a critical analysis of existing knowledge and tools, their applicability and limits, as well as pursue continuous and autonomous learning throughout their lives.
Facilitate, within the investigative work, the understanding of the relevance that the fundamental principles of the functioning of the nervous system present to determine the various aspects of Mental Health.
Promote research and critical evaluation in clinical practice in fields related to Psychiatry and Mental Health.
Provide an adequate education about the activities, knowledge and skills necessary for the development of effective work in the area of Mental Health.
Facilitate the professional development of the students, through critical discussion, analysis of the scientific literature or study of clinical cases in the area of Mental Health.RecipientsAimed at graduates, graduates and graduates in: Medicine, Psychology, Biology, Pharmacy, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Biomedical Sciences in general who have an interest in Mental Health. Admission will be conditioned by a selection process based on the evaluation of the candidate's merits: level of previous training in the field of Mental Health, quality of training, academic record and research or professional experience in an area related to the University Master's Degree.Why study this master?The Master's degree is oriented towards initiation in Mental Health research, so its main output is the completion of the Doctorate and research. Graduates may join biotechnology-based companies, pharmaceutical laboratories, biomedical research institutes, or public health systems. The completion of the Doctorate, in addition to the research route, opens the academic door to teaching in Mental Health, the management of public or private Mental Health research centers and services.Admission requirements for mastersNon-enabling university mastersBe in possession of any of the following titles:Spanish official university degree .
Title issued by an institution of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and empowering in the country of issue for access to Master's education.
Title of educational systems outside the EHEA that empowers in the country of issuance for access to Master's education, homologated or declared equivalent to the degree and academic level of Degree or Degree by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training . In case of lacking the mentioned homologation or equivalency, it will be necessary to have authorization or access permission granted by this University.
Or be carrying out studies leading to the obtaining of any of the previous degrees during the course in which the pre-registration is carried out and be in a position to prove the obtaining of the same before the date established in the corresponding call (see href = "https: //www.ucm.es/requisitos-de-admision-a-masteres ).
In addition, students from foreign educational systems, whose mother tongue is different from Spanish, must prove level B2 of the Spanish language (or higher) .
