Executive Masters in Industrial Relations

The Executive Masters in Industrial Relations is aimed at HR professionals, advisers and consultants in the field and those seeking one or other of these dedicated professionals.

The Master puts the accent on knowledge of the legal framework that determines the personnel management decisions and the possibilities to find in their midst, solutions to problems that modern labor relations are proposing.

Development of the programma

1.Introduction: Industrial Relations in the New Economy

The introduction aims to present the new framework in which labor relations are developed as a result of economic changes brought by globalization, the opening of economies and the new conditions of international competition.

2. The Company and the Contract Work

The second thematic section focuses on the recruitment, which can contract the various titles by which the work performed can be obtained for businesses. This requires analyzing both methods of recruitment, as other potential uses of self-employment or employment benefits obtained through other business or commercial relationship between them.Special attention is devoted to management of companies and their various contractual relations, both labor and business.

3. The Use of Work in the Enterprise

Once contracted work, this second thematic section focuses on its use for the development of the productive activities of the company. Under what conditions can the company use the contract work, how to organize this work and how you can modify the conditions under which it provides, both relating to the work itself (job classification and functional mobility) as the place of provision (geographical mobility) and working time and its distribution, including, of course, the reward for work.In connection with this, the corporate powers (including disciplinary authority and the legal regime of sanctions and dismissals), and the rights granted to workers, in general, derived from their professional position, as in particular from the point of view of the right to privacy and the right to equality.

4. Crisis and Change Business

The fourth section examines the assumptions of business change and crisis, and addresses both the problems of change of ownership of the company as regards economic and collective dismissals, including those situations in which they arise within a procedure bankruptcy.

5. Relations Collective

Collective labor relations are the subject of careful consideration, both from a business standpoint as "supra-".The study of the mechanisms of worker representation and trade union presence in the company completes the analysis of procedures for negotiating collective agreements and its role of regulating labor relations. It also addresses the various cases of conflict (strikes and lockouts), legal and judicial treatment and procedures for resolution.

6. Protecting Workers' Health

Issues relating to safety and health at work are studied mainly from the perspective of preventive obligations of companies and responsibilities arising from its eventual failure.

7.Social Security and Welfare

The seventh thematic area dedicated to the Social Security system and complementary social security arrangements. Short of an exhaustive study of the social security institutions, analyzes its most significant recent legal reforms and those aspects that have greater impact on companies' labor relations. This covers everything related to pension and early retirement plans and the issue of temporary disability, in relation to absenteeism, and the role of each other thereof.

8.Expatriation Policies

The eighth block focuses on a specific aspect of labor relations is becoming increasingly important: the expatriation policies, and he discusses both his labor issues as the tax treatment of different situations that may arise.

9. Human Resources Management and Legal Advice

The ninth block will include a series of supplementary materials related to the world of human resources, labor relations discipline not directly, but whose knowledge is essential for proper understanding.

10.Management Skills

Are intended to complement the student's training by analyzing the economic environment and learning the different skills required for professional and personal development. Finally, to complete the training process, organize discussions with personalities from the world of labor relations, including trade union leaders and business associations, responsible government departments and directors of business relations.

The participants' performance is measured using the following evaluation instruments:

  • Continuous assessment, based on participation in class and in the presentation and defense of case studies throughout the course.
  • Presentation and defense before a court, a final report on a case.

&nbsp

Obtaining title "Executive Master of Industrial Relations " and the final grade will depend on the result obtained in the test suite and require assistance to at least 80% of teaching sessions.
