Technology is profoundly changing the finance industry as we know it, and with it, the skill set needed to succeed in the industry. This new track aims to bring together the two fields of finance and IT in order to enable you to understand how technology affects the finance industry of the future.
You will receive a thorough finance education combined with comprehensive skills in programming, machine learning and big data. In addition, you will learn how these concepts can be implemented in finance.
This track is suitable for professionals with a minimum of two years of experience in relevant fields.
If you have a minimum Bachelor's in Economics or Finance or technological background and seek to boost your career opportunities in the finance industry, this track is for you.
The academic year of the Master in International Finance (MIF) programme starts the last week of August and ends around mid-June. The year is divided into two semesters, and each semester consists of two main blocks. Each of these blocks takes 6 weeks of classes, one study week, and one exam week.
The course programme is followed by a master thesis project and potentially an internship.
In January, students embark on a one-week international study trip. In past years, the study trip took place in Cape Town, South Africa.
Full-time or part-time
The programme allows you to study full-time (12 months), part-time (18-24 months) for working students. The courses are conducted in English and typically scheduled during weekdays (Monday-Thursday): 3-4 evenings (full-time) or 1-2 evenings (part-time).
Pre-Course Training (online preparatory course)
Depending on your academic background, you may be required to complete the Pre-Course Training. It is a self-study online course prior to the regular MIF programme. It brings you up to speed with Fundamentals of Corporate Finance, Financial Accounting, and Quantitative Methods & Research Skills. The courses are facilitated through a tailor-made online learning platform.
