Access requirementsAny person who has an official Spanish university degree, or a degree issued by a higher education institution of the EHEA that empowers the country issuing the degree to access official master's degrees. Students with a foreign qualification (external to the EESS) can also take this Master's degree, which is homologated or not approved, provided that the level of training is equivalent to the degree titles and that it authorizes the issuing country to access official master's degrees.
No prior knowledge of the different areas that make up the interdisciplinary program is required, but a solid training, dedication and versatility. It is aimed at students or professionals who wish to deepen the theory and practice of gender issues in a quality international program, as well as the opportunity for training in a foreign institution and the consequent double degree. However, the most suitable profile corresponds to:Researchers who wish to expand their knowledge of women and gender in the humanities, arts and social sciences or wish to carry out further research in the field of gender.
People involved in the planning, development and evaluation of equality actions, equality agents in public or private organizations, or who wish to be trained for it.
Specialists and professionals in any field of knowledge who must resolve conflicts or apply sexual policies in institutions, educational centers, public administrations, the media, etc., and who wish to be trained with a comparative and international dimension.Likewise, an accredited command of the languages necessary for the chosen mobility path is required (English: TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge Proficiency or equivalent. Spanish: Cervantes DELE Institute certificates or equivalent. Italian: Dante Institute certificates or equivalent).

Depending on the mobility itinerary and options chosen, they will have been able to specialize in a specific disciplinary or subject area, and will have completed a research or professional master's thesis, co-directed between the two chosen universities, which will involve high-level training. This training will enable them for informed and critical intervention in gender matters in professional settings, as well as to continue their studies at the doctoral level.
GEMMA not only allows access to doctoral studies in Spain, but also in the other universities of the Consortium. Given its prestige as Erasmus Mundus and its double degree, it facilitates access to international programs and various professional and academic fields. At the University of Oviedo, it allows direct admission to the doctoral program in Gender and Diversity which, founded in 1995, with a Mention for Quality since 2005 and a Mention for Excellence in 2011, has already trained a large group of doctors and doctors and graduates; who today occupy prestigious university and professional positions.CurriculumStudies can be completed by choosing between the seven universities of the Consortium, belonging to six European countries with different cultures: Universities of Oviedo and Granada, Spain; University of Bologna, Italy; Central European University (CEU), Hungary; University of Hull, UK; University of Lodz, Poland; Utrecht University, The Netherlands.
