Introduction
The M.S. in Exercise and Sport Science uses classroom, laboratory, and field-based experiences to examine human performance and disease prevention from childhood to older adulthood. Students use skills to identify, analyze, and explain physiological, structural, and functional dynamics that influence fitness, health, and performance in sport and exercise settings. Students learn about the integration of human physiology, movement, and cognition through both clinical and applied coursework.
Our coursework includes both foundation and elective courses across two foci:
- Clinical and rehabilitative fitness
- Sports performance and enhancement across the lifespan
Program Benefits
Applied experiences are available in the forms of research, independent studies, and internships. Students may also participate in faculty research or conduct a thesis. Upon graduation, students are prepared for a variety of certifications such as clinical exercise physiologist.
