Introduction

The University of Findlay is a flexible, forward-looking institution that is constantly seeking ways to better serve students and the community. Education at The University of Findlay is offered in formats that accommodate students of all ages and their time-pressured lifestyles. In addition to traditional weekday classes, Findlay offers courses at night, on weekends and online.

The University of Findlay has nearly 60 majors leading to baccalaureate degrees and offers eight master’s degrees, a doctor of pharmacy and a doctor of physical therapy. Unusual and well-recognized programs include equestrian studies, pre-veterinary medicine (animal science/pre-veterinary medicine option), nuclear medicine technology, occupational therapy and physical therapy, as well as environmental, safety and occupational health management.

Graduate programs offered include a master of arts in education, a master of arts in teaching English as a second language (TESOL) and bilingual education, a master of business administration, a master of athletic training, a master of occupational therapy, a master of physician assistant, a master of health informatics and a master of science in environmental, safety and health management, as well as the doctor of pharmacy and doctor of physical therapy.

Two degree completion programs leading to bachelor of science degrees are offered entirely online: business management and environmental, safety and health management. The MBA, master of science in environmental, safety and health management and master of arts in education also are offered entirely online in addition to classes held on campus.

Students in the program will be instructed in information assurance and cyber security, software engineering, database management and analytics, as well as project management and technical management. Program Learning Objectives Program Learning Objectives Students who complete the program will: Manifest PSM goals of blending technical skills with business and managerial expertise (Bloom I – VI). Create and complete a capstone project that incorporates elements of management, leadership and one or more of the following technical areas: security, analytics and/or data management. The project will be judged as successful by a team of two faculty, and a possible external client, on the basis of a written report and verbal presentation. (Bloom I – VI). Expand their understanding of general computer science principles to incorporate the specialized knowledge of the program (Bloom I, II). The students’ success will be measured by their performance in the technical courses in the curriculum. Integrate their understanding of general computer science concepts into situations and principles of technical management, ethical decision-making and leadership (Bloom I – V). The students’ success will be measured by their performance in the business and leadership courses in the curriculum. Encounter real-world problems, involving technical decisions and successfully apply their understanding of both technical and business principles to create novel solutions (Bloom I – VI). Student success will be judged by their performances throughout the program. Practice team-based learning and team-building.
