Seidman is the dynamic growing business school located in the heart of greater Grand Rapids business community. The 68 full-time Ph.D. faculty are dedicated to helping our students and our business partners grow and prosper.

The curriculum is designed to prepare students to act ethically and effectively in complex organizations, and to transcend traditional boundaries in the pursuit of prosperous, safe, and healthy communities.The Master of Health (MHA) degree program broadens the commitment of the School of Public and Nonprofit Administration to educate community leaders. The mission of the MHA is to teach and prepare individuals for managerial and leadership roles in the challenging and complex field of health care administration. The program centers on interdisciplinary learning experiences that integrate classroom study, applied research, professional development, and field experience. The Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) degree is designed for students pursuing CPA certification and other accounting careers, including those individuals with limited undergraduate accounting courses.The Master of Science in Accounting program consists of 33 semester hours of graduate studies with at least 18 semester hours in accounting. Students are required to complete:ACC 613:  Financial Statement AnalysisACC 616:  Financial Information SystemsACC 617:  International AccountingACC 618:  Advanced AccountingACC 620:  Accounting TheoryThe remaining 15 credits are selected from graduate accounting and business courses, depending on the student\'s career interests and previous course work.  At least one additional accounting course must be included.Students may earn the MSA by attending part time or full time.  Courses are primarily available in the evenings; however, some courses are offered in the afternoons, especially during the summer semester. The mark of a good tax practitioner is the ability to analyze a tax problem, identify the tax issue(s), and through analysis and research, arrive at the appropriate course of action. Grand Valley's Master of Science in Taxation Program instills and enhances these skills through an intensive professional-practive oriented study of research procedures, legal analysis and substantive tax law.

 

The Seidman MST was created in response to needs expressed by accountants, attorneys, industrial personnel, government auditors, and other skilled tax professionals. These needs are highlighted by the increasingly complex nature of our tax laws.

 

The MST program is highly flexible and offers students an extensive selection of courses, including coverage of corporations, partnerships, estates, gifts and trusts, property transactions, employee benefit plans and deferred compensation, state and local taxation, and international taxation.
