Fashion Marketing investigates the relationships between the business of the fashion industry and consumers including the development, promotion, advertising, and retailing aspects of this global industry. Fashion Marketing works by using current trends in fashion to analyze, develop, and implement sales strategies across multiple mediums. Successful fashion marketers understand that recognizing consumer trends, strong branding, and a desirable product image are all essential elements to building an effective and meaningful campaign. The Master of Professional Studies (MPS) in Fashion Marketing is a 30-credit graduate program. Each course has been designed to give you current marketing and business trends in order to gain a competitive edge in today’s fashion marketing sectors. The first 24 credits are core courses which culminate in a three-credit capstone project utilizing the skills developed throughout the program. All students must also take a three-credit internship. You can complete the program in three semesters throughout one calendar year if you choose to go full-time. If you are seeking a career change into the fashion business, the MPS in Fashion Marketing is a tool to help facilitate that change. The overall goals of the MPS in Fashion Marketing are: To provide an exceptional educational program designed to enhance your success within the Fashion Marketing industry To provide an experiential, as well as academically sound educational experience that will enable you to compete in the evolving global fashion industries To be a source of innovative interdisciplinary learning that utilizes: exceptional faculty with academic achievements and industry experience and leaders within the fashion industry who take an interest in the development of future marketing leaders. Specifically, you will receive practical and theoretical knowledge of fashion marketing with regards to the underlying disciplines of history, current global marketing trends, marketing management, consumer insights, public relations and luxury brand management. This foundation will allow you to generate the necessary skills to be competitive within the fashion industry. As the result you will master key concepts within fashion marketing including marketing management, services marketing, cause marketing and new media. You will get to know how fashion marketing methods can create and provide value to consumers by using practical and theoretical examples in the industry that reflect today's consumer - and the future consumer. You will gain the ability to interpret positive and negative reactions to sales and consumer insights and the methods needed to develop appropriate and successful marketing plans. You will be able to comprehend the daily operations of fashion marketing through on-the-job work experiences (internship in the fashion industry), and to identify major stakeholders and propose viable solutions to realistic and applied fashion marketing occupational settings. Marketing Curriculum MPS students will take 24 credits of core courses, a 3-credit capstone project utilizing skills developed throughout the program, and a 3-credit internship. The MPS in Fashion Marketing is open to applicants from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds. The Master of Professional Studies in Fashion Merchandising and Retail Management is designed to give you a competitive edge in today’s retail, apparel, and merchandising markets. This program is ideal if you seek a graduate degree program with an emphasis on career development in order to make a transition into the fashion industry. This is a convenient master's degree that will give you the tools to launch a career in the fashion industry. The MPS is designed to enhance your success within the fashion retail management industry. While pursuing this degree program: You will apply knowledge, analysis, strategy, and critical thinking skills necessary to make business decisions in the fashion industry. You will be able to function both independently and within teams by applying theoretical knowledge to practical solutions. You will learn to solve real-world problems within fashion management. Full-time students will complete the program, which includes an internship, in three semesters throughout one calendar year. Likewise, part-time students can complete the MPS in a longer timeframe. Merchandising Curriculum Graduate Program in Fashion Merchandising, Retail Visual Merchandising, Retail Branding MPS students will take 24 credits of core courses, a 3-credit capstone project utilizing skills developed throughout the program, and a 3-credit internship. The MPS in Fashion Merchandising and Retail Management is open to applicants from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds. Visual merchandising is an indispensable part of any retail strategy. Over the last several years, the field has moved from the basement studio to the executive boardroom - where creative sensibilities must be linked to strong leadership and management skills. The first of its kind in the United States, the Master of Professional Studies in Visual Merchandising program (MPS VM) at LIM College offers advanced, specialized education geared towards eventually obtaining upper-management and executive-level positions. 

The MPS VM will give you a leg up as you pursue a career in this evolving field. You will learn the principles, philosophies and technologies of visual merchandising through exploration of the marketplace, hands-on classroom learning, and field experimentation, with an emphasis on the principles and practices of sustainable design. You will also develop leadership and managerial abilities, including human resource and project management skills. And you will do all this in the retail mecca that is New York City. Your education includes visits to some of the world’s most successful retailers to analyze displays and store environments and explore cutting-edge design and merchandising practices. If you are serious about a career in visual merchandising, we encourage you to further explore the MPS VM. Curriculum The MPS VM is a 30-credit master's degree program which can be completed over the course of three semesters in one calendar year. Your first 24 credits are core courses representing the most important, and industry-relevant facets of visual merchandising. The last six credits of the program allow you to synthesize your exploration of visual techniques with a three-credit capstone project.
