Over 95% of our students are employed full-time and represent a wide variety of positions in public and private organizations.The MSIS degree has a flexible curriculum designed for professionals who want to make a career change into the field of information technology or, for IT professionals, enhance and update their IT and management skills. All undergraduate majors are acceptable. The MSIS program prepares students for a wide range of positions related to information systems.Depending on prior background, graduates of the MSIS may pursue positions such as:- Systems Analyst - Database Administrator - Information Systems Manager - Network Administrator - Programmer - Project Manager The UW Oshkosh MSIS Program curriculum is modeled after the curriculum recommended by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Association for Information Systems (AIS). The program provides opportunities for gaining an emphasis in one or more areas including software development, business processes, project management, e-commerce, and management.MSIS Core Courses are available only at the UW Oshkosh campus. The Foundation and Elective courses can be taken at UW Oshkosh, in Green Bay, or on the Internet.The MSIS degree combines both business and technical knowledge. The MSIS degree is particularly suited to meet your needs if you belong to one of these groups:- you have a bachelor's degree in a field other than computer science or MIS and want to move into the information technology area, or - you have a degree in computer science and would like to enhance your knowledge/skills in information systems, business, and management or- you have some work experience in information technology but don't have a degree in this field, or- you are an IT professional and want to expand your knowledge/skill base in IT or management, or- you earned a degree in MIS five or more years ago and would like to update your knowledge ...
