The Master of Science in Management-Operations Research and Supply Chain Management (MSM-OR/SC) degree is designed for individuals with quantitative training who seek to obtain a position in operations management or a management position in manufacturing, service or consulting firms that are part of sophisticated national or global supply chains. The MSM-OR/SC curriculum provides students with the fundamentals of business as well as depth and focus in the principles and concepts of operations and supply chain management. This unique program produces highly knowledgeable professionals well prepared to make organizations more efficient and competitive. Is This Program Right for Me? Typical undergraduate majors include: engineering, statistics, computer science, economics, mathematics and business. Students beginning this program must have a working knowledge of undergraduate calculus, including differentiation and integration, and one semester of undergraduate linear algebra. Work experience is beneficial but not required for admission; many students pursue the MSM-OR/SC immediately following the completion of their undergraduate degree. Outcomes Upon completion of the MSM-OR/SC program, students will: Become equipped with analytical and supply chain skills to become an agent of positive change at their organization within the first few years of work Speak and understand the language of business Gain a working knowledge of all functional areas of an organization and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues in these areas Acquire a network of regional, national and international business contacts Six Sigma Green Belt Certification upon successful completion of Six Sigma and Quality Management course, taught by adjunct professor Robert Kenney STEM OPT Degree The MSM-OR/SC program qualifies as a STEM OPT degree (science, technology, engineering or math), which allows international students in a technical field to apply for a 17-month extension to their OPT (optional practical training) period. The MSM-Business Analytics is a full-time, 33-credit-hour, STEM-eligible program that can be completed in 11 months. The MSM-Business Analytics is a lock-step program that includes three interlocking modules: business core (12 credit hours), analytics core (9 credit hours) and applied business analytics (12 credit hours). The Business Core provides students with a holistic understanding of the underlying business context necessary for succeeding in any industry. The Analytics Core equips students with the general data handling, data presentation and analysis skills, and the courses in Applied Business Analytics build off of these general skills to improve the students' ability to make decisions in the two most common application areas: marketing and operations. The three overlapping circles emphasize our program's goals: building applied analytical skills for intelligent business decision making using a wide range of tools appropriate for today's business data. The Master of Science in Management-Finance (MSM-Finance) degree is a rigorous program designed to equip you to meet the needs of companies in the financial sector in today’s intense and competitive business climate. The Master of Science in Management-Finance (MSM-Finance) program is led by the world-class faculty who teach in our highly-regarded undergraduate finance program (ranked first in the U.S. by Businessweek in 2010 and 2012). The program provides students with a solid foundation in finance and gives them the opportunity to apply key concepts and theory both in the classroom and outside of it through hands-on projects and internships. Weatherhead's Cleveland location is the ideal place to seek internships and jobs within the banking and finance sector; our city is home to prominent employers including the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland and KeyCorp's headquarters. And faculty members, dedicated career management staff, and the MSM-Finance program manager work directly with students to ensure they are prepared and ready for their career.
