MBA Programs

Choose an MBA which best fits your career goals We offer a general Liverpool MBA and two sector specializations: the Football Industries MBA or the Thoroughbred Horseracing Industries MBA. Each program can be studied full-time for 1 year or part-time for 2 years.

Masters Programs Our MSc programs are designed for people who wish to begin their career in management or who wish to switch their career or deepen their experience in a particular management area.

Working with Industry We are able to offer some postgraduate students work-based project opportunities. Some of our programs give students the chance to work on group consultancy projects, working hands-on in industry to solve real problems.

MSc Finance

This program provides a firm foundation in Finance, Financial Economics and Empirical Finance. The MSc is specifically designed to support career entry and development in the financial sectors, government agencies and to higher education. [+]

The program will provide to students a solid grounding in modern finance and economics with a particular emphasis on techniques and models and their application to real world problems. As well as providing you with firm academic foundations, this course also aims to develop the individual. You will learn vital skills expected of graduates alongside ‘soft’ skills of team working, creative thinking and high impact communication. You’ll also benefit from our exclusive calendar of guests and events. Recent speakers have included senior executives from Newsmith Capital, Burger King, UBS and Cable and Wireless. Program Structure This 12-month program consists of six compulsory modules and two optional modules followed by a dissertation over the summer period on completion of Semester 2. Exceptional candidates with first class degrees in other subjects (with a significant component of finance) will be considered. Students who lack the usual academic qualifications but have appropriate professional qualifications (with good grades) will be considered individually on merit. Grades in modules relevant to Finance must average 2:1 (particular emphasis will be placed on final-year finance modules). All applicants must have reached a minimum required standard of English language and are required to provide evidence of this. Career Prospects The MSc is designed to support career entry and development in the financial sectors in the world financial markets, government agencies, international financial agencies and higher education, amongst others. The MSc Management program is for students who want to pursue a career in management. The program is suitable for students who would like to study management for the first time. [+]

The program aims to provide a general overview of the processes of management and organization. It supports development of the subject specific and key transferable skills necessary for employment in management positions. You have the opportunity to acquire a range of analytical techniques required for the effective tactical and strategic management of organizations, enabling you to develop your IT skills and gain familiarity with a range of financial and statistical software. You will also develop your written and verbal communication skills. The SBA (Strategic Business Analysis module) allows you to take part in an interactive, virtual simulation where your learning can be put into practice. You will gain a sound theoretical grounding in the broad area of business sand management and will develop a range of communications skills. Program Structure This 12-month program consists of eight compulsory modules, followed by a research project (Strategic Business Analysis) or dissertation carried out over the summer period upon completion of Semester 2.
