The results of the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) demonstrate that, on average, over 85% of the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences research is rated as world-leading or internationally excellent.

Norwich Medical School at UEA has an established reputation for exciting and innovative approaches to education, supported by a strong and rapidly developing research programme.
Norwich Medical School places a strong emphasis on collaborative co-operation in teaching and research. The Institute of Food Research and the John Innes Centre are situated close to the School, which is housed in the new Bob Champion Research and Education Building, located at the heart of Norwich Research Park. The School itself is building a strong reputation in Population Medicine, Health Economics, Diet and Health and BioMedicine with laboratory work now being concentrated in the world-leading Research Centre.
The School is proud to have received the Athena SWAN Silver award, and is committed to the principles of the charter, which recognises and celebrates good practice in recruiting, retaining and promoting women in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine (STEMM) in higher education.
Postgraduate Scholarships, Bursaries and PhD Studentships are available to students within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and are usually awarded on the basis of academic merit.
