Nottingham Business School is based in the Newton building, a multi-million pound, fully refurbished, Grade II listed building at the heart of the City site. It houses modern lecture theatres and teaching facilities as well as our centralised Student Support Services, Careers Service, Accommodation Office. The Newton Building houses a state of the art trading room, running leading industry software for students studying Economics, Accounting and Finance and Trading courses.

Nottingham Trent University boasts one of the best Students’ Union buildings in the UK. It reopened in September 2013 having undergone extensive redevelopment and now has 5,500 square meters of social and leisure space. The Boots Library on the City Site houses over half a million books as well as journals and eJournals is currently undergoing a £4.2 million refurbishment. By the start of the 2013/14 academic year Nottingham Trent University will have invested close to £350m in estates, equipment and staff.

This course will help you become a market-ready professional with a global outlook, equipped for a successful international career in marketing, business or management. Created in close consultation with the marketing industry and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), it develops the strengths, abilities and understanding today's marketing employers are looking for. In your first Semester, you'll explore the fundamental issues and concepts of marketing practice, before learning about consumer buying behaviour and the factors that influence it. You'll also take a holistic view of an organisation and how it attempts to develop marketing strategy in a challenging global environment. The second semester sees you deepen your understanding of the subject. You'll look at marketing management, how marketing works with the other functions of an organisation, marketing plans, metrics and consumer engagement. You'll be exposed to the very latest thinking in both conventional and digital marketing disciples. Finally, in your third semester, you'll choose a major practical project, with the opportunity to use your skills in a real-world setting, conduct independent research or gain work experience overseas. You can add a year's work placement, making your master's a two year course. The partnership with the CIM means that on successful completion of the MSc Marketing course you have the opportunity to gain an extra qualification, the Level 4 CIM Professional Certificate in Marketing. You'll also have student membership from the CIM and will be exempt from certain modules on either the CIM Level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing or CIM Level 6 Diploma in Professional Marketing. Input from marketing professionals. Previous speakers have worked in senior marketing roles for large corporate organisations such as 3M, Boots, E.ON, VW or for smaller marketing and design agencies. Small group teaching delivered by a team of specialists who have both academic and extensive marketing industry credentials. Students on these routes typically come from over 25 different countries, which means you will have a truly international learning experience. There is a unique opportunity to complete a major project - either a Consultancy Experience, Internship, Business Research Project or Global Experience. You will complete a comprehensive development programme, which includes a short residential team-building course, usually held in the Peak District.
