Hyper Island’s mission is distilled into two main areas of focus.

1) Educational programs and courses to immerse young talents and industry professionals in intensive learning experiences from digital strategy, e-Commerce and data strategy to art direction and through self leadership and reflection.

2) Business Innovation consulting to boost understanding of how digital changes societies and consumer behavior -- and support organizations in the change process of staying or becoming creative and competitive in an increasingly digitized world.

Hyper Island’s MA in Digital Management program offers an immersive learning experience delivered by innovative digital leaders and pioneers. The programme combines a broad range of topics, including digital technology, business transformation, strategy, service design and research methods with real-world application, developing the leaders of the future. The Digital Management is a Masters-level leadership program, designed in partnership with the industry and accredited by Teesside University. It is designed to prepare you for a leading role in the media, creative, and digital industries. This post-graduate program gives you an insight into the thought processes that drive some of the world’s most successful and innovative companies. Designed in collaboration with industry, the program provides those wanting to develop or refine their strategic and digital skills or transition into the digital and creative industries. It presents a unique opportunity to learn from leading industry thinkers and apply principles in a learning environment that mirrors real-world challenges. You will embark on a transformative journey to becoming a new kind of leader, who is adaptive, collaborative and creatively driven, who can go beyond conventional thinking and practices to create effective teams and business value. You will be challenged by real world situations and given the opportunity to work on live briefs for clients. You will be challenged to create business and brand strategies and develop innovative solutions based on creative concepts. In addition to group projects, Digital Management students are expected to complete individual assignments to compliment each group task. At Hyper Island, you will be immersed in collaborative and high-energy learning environments that mirror the modern workplace dynamics. We work closely with industry to design and develop our programmes so that they are current and relevant. We are currently going through a redesign process for this programme and the projects outlined above are what we intend to deliver, subject to approval from Teesside University in June. This redesign includes changing the degree name from the previous title of MA Digital Media Management to MA Digital Management. Hyper Island's new MA in Digital Experience Design has been designed in response to demand from industry. There is currently a gap between what schools teach and what a designer needs to know to build products, services and systems in the real world. The role of a designer is shifting. A product today is rarely just physical and consumers expectations are higher than ever. The challenge for designers is to design and deliver meaningful experiences, both online and offline. The MA in Digital Experience Design will develop your technical, creative and strategic skills as an experience designer to lead the change within this evolving industry. You will explore experience design and related fields such as service design and interaction design, understanding human behaviour, rigorous research, digital technologies and prototyping, project management, business acumen and how to build and lead an effective team. You will leave us primed for roles across human-centred design such as Experience Designer, Information Architect, Interaction Designer and Service Designer. Within these roles, graduates will be able to design and develop high quality experiences, products and services. You will be able to work across disciplinary, cultural, and geographical boundaries to design innovative solutions to meet user and business needs. The MA in Digital Management will give you the skills and knowledge you need to drive change in a digital world. You will study whilst working and apply the insights and learnings to develop disruptive business solutions. Learn how to kickstart digital innovation, build effective teams, manage complex tech-driven projects, and transform businesses. This university accredited program is designed and delivered in close partnership with industry experts. Enhance your skills You'll learn how to apply design thinking to solve problems, how to harness emerging digital technologies, how to transform existing businesses, and how to manage innovation processes. Make better decisions You'll collaborate with peers and professionals on real business challenges in a range of practical projects. That will help you to develop the skills that leaders need to make good strategic decisions. Study whilst working You'll apply the things you learn directly in your business or organisation. This Part-Time program is designed to meet the time pressures and learning needs of busy professionals. What you’ll learn The program has five practical group projects, and one independent research project. Industry experts lead the practical projects. You will learn through a range of interactive talks, hands-on workshops, team challenges, and deep reflection. The average time commitment is 1.5 days per week which will include campus days in London, independent work, and research in your workplace.
