Zaragoza Logistics Center (ZLC) is a research institute established by the Government of Aragon in Spain in partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Zaragoza. Founded in 2003, the ZLC campus is located in the heart of PLAZA, the largest logistics park in the southwest of Europe that serves as a working laboratory to transfer new knowledge and working practices. ZLC mission is to create an international center of excellence for research and education in logistics and SCM that actively engages with industry and the public sector to develop and disseminate knowledge.
To accomplish its mission ZLC partnered with the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics to form the MIT-Zaragoza International Logistics Program, a unique model of collaboration between industry, government and academia. This successful partnership led to the creation of the MIT Global SCALE Networkthat now spans four continents. In addition, Zaragoza Logistics Center participates in several national and international research and educational initiatives.
The Global SCALE (Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence) Network was initially formed in 2004 with the opening of the Zaragoza Logistics Center (ZLC) in Zaragoza Spain. It expanded in 2008 with the opening of theCenter for Latin American Logistics Innovation (CLI)in Bogotá Colombia in 2008 and then again in 2011 with the creation of the Malaysia Institute for Supply Chain Innovation (MISI)in Shah Alam, Malaysia. Collectively, the SCALE Network, which includes MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics (CTL), now spans four continents.

The sessions combine various formats such as business case discussions, lectures, simulation games and exercises, complemented by expert lectures and company visits to factories and distribution centers. Although most of the program is taught in Spanish, it offers the possibility of some courses in English.
The program is taught in the afternoon, so it allows to combine its development with work.

The MIT Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (ZLOG) is a Master of Engineering with strong management, problem solving and leadership components, combining both theoretical study and practical applications. The admission process ensures that the individuals invited into the ZLOG program are well-prepared for intensive study in logistics and supply chain management and positioned for success upon graduation.
Previous completion of a four year undergraduate program equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree is required. While applicants are expected to have an aptitude for analytical thinking, a degree in engineering is not required. Diversity in the student body is an important aspect of the ZLOG program. Work experience from a variety of operational and management responsibilities provides an invaluable background for the ZLOG Program. Nevertheless, we do welcome exceptional students with little or no work experience. We invite applicants from a wide range of backgrounds.
