Thanks to the experience acquired throughout the years in the service of teaching and research, the UPF is launching a new way of understanding training within the business management and public administration sector: the Barcelona School of Management.

The Barcelona School of Management constitutes answers, ideas, research, exchange; it is a new model of school of management. A training concept which provides new rules for a new economy. The aim is to be an international reference point in scientific production, transference and the training of the new managers of the 21st century.

The contact with the real world is one of the priori­ties. The Barcelona School of Management incorpo­rates academic research of the social environment on a global scale in order to form professionals capable of improving business practice and its impact on socie­ty. Therefore, the Barcelona School of Management maintains and promotes a close relationship between the university and industry. In order to achieve this objective, it has the honour of the participation of leading enterprises in the sector and public authori­ties for the developing of its academic programmes.

The solid position achieved by the UPF within the eco­nomic and business sector guarantees good quality tra­ining. Lecturers, directors and academics from all over the world are joining the project to train professionals.

The Barcelona School of Management offers MScs, MBAs, master's, executive education and tailored training within the business and public authority sec­tors. The MSc programmes base their methodolo­gy on evidence based management, ethical decision making and entrepreneurship & social innovation. The whole academic training is practice-oriented and also oriented towards the exchange of opinions, experiences and knowledge in the international area.

The Master in Urban Management breaks down such challenges and trains innovative professionals who will transform the cities of the future. Taught 100% in English, the course is centered on a practical methodology. As such, it works with real-world urban challenges facing the most pressing issues of current urban transformation. From the very start of the program, you will propose innovative solutions to the challenges set. With the help of professionals from different sectors you will discover what a Smart City means at all levels (economic, financial, political, social, technological, urban, etc.), how to bring cities closer to its citizens, how to make them City Branding benchmarks or how to face challenges such as tourism, real estate exploitation, environmental sustainability and the advent of new technologies with innovative solutions. The Master in Urban Management is aimed at recent graduates from multidisciplinary backgrounds (economists, architects, sociologists, engineers, geographers, anthropologists, ICT, designers, etc.), junior professionals with an interest in the future transformation of the city, local city officials and urban managers who wish to update their understanding of contemporary cities and entrepreneurial spirits aiming to launch innovative start-ups to address new urban challenges.
