RANEPA is a leading university in Russia in the areas of public policy, public administration, and business administration.
The Academy of National Economy (ANE) served as the foundation and the main driving force of the new Presidential Academy. It traces its history to 1977 and over time became the leader of management training in economics, business and law. The Russian Academy of Public Administration (RAPA) and the 12 academies of civil service provided 80% of the training for the highest political leadership and civil servants of Russia.
The newly formed Russian Presidential Academy is the largest of socioeconomic and humanities universities in Russia and Europe, rightly occupying the top tier of the national university ranking.
The Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) was established in September 2010 by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation through merging the Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation, the Russian Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation, and 12 other regional civil service academies.

RANEPA’s Moscow campus includes 21 schools and departments. The total number of university students engaged in various forms of training, including regional campuses, equals more than 207 thousand, including more than 35 thousand full-time students.
Education for public sector
Generations of Russian civil servants have received their training at RANEPA through first university degree, graduate and short-term programs. Over the years RANEPA has developed many unique programs to train civil servants for the federal and regional authorities in Russia. RANEPA was one of the initiators of introducing МРА (Master of Public Administration) programs in Russia to meet the needs of the public sector in talented and creative personnel.

Tailor-made executive program for Tatarstan
For the regional government of Tatarstan RANEPA has developed a special flagship Executive Master of Public Administration Program. A series of interactive and tailor-made trainings delivered in 2010 – 2011 helped to strengthen the skill-base and give new perspectives on policy challenges for the entire team of core government executives of the Republic.
Education for private sector
RANEPA dominates in the field of training of toplevel managers for Russian enterprises. The Academy pioneered in the Russian MBA program market and was the first in Russia to receive international accreditation of its MBA program. RANEPA introduced the first DBA program in Russia and is at the forefront of implementing Executive MBA programs in the country.
Most of the MBA and ЕМВА programs are viewed as best practices in quality in the Russian market of business education. RANEPA’s business education programs are accredited by the international and national accreditation agencies, such as AACSB International, EFMD and Association of MBAs.
