Introduction

IADE-U Institute of Art, Design and Enterprise - University is the new official name of the oldest college institution of design in Portugal.

IADE arrived in 2012 to a new stage in its long journey of more than four decades and becomes an University. It is an achievement that results from the capacity of creation, transmission and dissemination of culture, knowledge, science and technology, through education and research.

IADE has been a laboratory of creativity, talent and leadership recognized generally throughout society. It has been able to lead all students to experimentation and success and encourages people to test their own talent, to accept taking risks, simply to believe in themselves, making them the best of the best, in life or in future professional integration.

Today we are the largest school of Design in the country and we are among the first in Marketing, Advertising and Photography, both in number of students, quality of its teaching and research, and also (but not least) active participation in international networks. Naturally, we are still not satisfied. This is a school that generates ideas, which compensates for the effort, the passion bears fruit. We do and we instill in our students that they can do as well or better than all "others"... and we are led to believe that everyone, without exception, students, teachers, employees and partners, is able to put IADE on the top + of European universities.

Master in Design Management The 2nd cycle course in Design Management is a partnership between IPAM and IADE. Market trends and analysis of future trends indicate a convergence of skills between professionals of marketing and design. These are two areas of science that despite their different characteristics and purposes require a large joint in the practical implementation. Design Management process encompasses all strategic and operational within a business organization as a way to tailor offerings aiming the needs of consumers. This 2nd cycle Course responds to trends that occur some years in most developed economies in very mature and competitive market. Objectives Masters in Design Management should be able to develop the complete management of the design process, with integrated thinking and at the same time concerned with emerging needs to organizational processes. They must understand the economic and financial component, both in the macro and the needs of everyday life, to manage innovation projects applied consistently to the needs of businesses and consumers. Targets Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent as assessed by the Scientific Councils of the proven Schools in the areas of Design, Fine Arts, Architecture, Marketing or Advertising. Master in Production Design Product and space are ever since linked in an environment, this is the main assumption of the characteristics and objectives of the course Mestrado em Design de Produção. This concept shows itself through the realization of projects, the conception of objects at hand, body and space scale, materialized through the aggregation of specialized areas of industrial and environment production. Objectives Through its methods of approaching project exercises and its theory and practical contents, the course aims to achieve the student’s full domain in the levels of “Conception, Development/Planning” and “Implementation” in the creation of products and spaces.
