Introduction

Welcome to the HECTOR School of Engineering & Management, the Technology Business School of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) . The HECTOR School of Engineering and Management was founded in 2005 and was named after Dr. Hans-Werner Hector, one of the co-founders of the SAP AG. It is located in Karlsruhe, Germany, only one hour away from the International Airport Frankfurt.

The HECTOR School offers seven part-time master programs designed for ambitious professionals. The master programs are more than typical MBA programs, as they combine management with engineering expertise. The school aims to aid talented young professionals in enhancing their competencies in innovation and technology management and in developing their strategic thinking and interpersonal skills through vital management know-how. Master Program in Electronic Systems Engineering and Management Part-time further qualification for engineers. Electronic systems are omnipresent. They range from portable devices, such as digital watches and smart phones, to large stationary installations like factory controllers or power plant control systems. The graduates of the Electronic Systems Engineering and Management master program are in a position to understand the design of integrated electronic systems. They are able to analyze challenges and problems associated with these systems and to optimize them accordingly. Under the master program, knowledge is acquired on circuit- and systems design systems theory state-of-the-art material science radio-frequency electronics and state-of-the-art analysis procedures, as well as on process signal theories. In addition, knowledge of the product development process and the necessary management skills are conveyed. Objective The Executive M.Sc. Program for Electrical Engineers provides deep insights into new methods of product development, new materials and technologies, and applications of embedded systems for wireless and optical communication, signal processing and integrated systems. A special focus lies on important economic aspects and cost models. Knowledge of process and product life-time cost calculation is indispensable for the successful innovative integrated systems-on-chip development and fabrication. Focus of the Program The program is designed to train interdisciplinary systems-oriented understanding and thinking and will focus on: System level and application-oriented theoretical models modern design methods, methodology, and hardware/software architectures selected key technologies Fields of application are: Mobile communication systems Automotive systems and infotainment Industrial automation technology and signal processing. To understand the emerging potentials of innovative technologies and materials, a new generation of engineers must be trained system architecture. The increasing use of energy has been associated with a number of serious problems, some of which, represent major global hazards, e.g. global warming. Graduates of the Energy Engineering and Management master program have acquired a comprehensive overview of present and future energy systems and their elements. They are capable of participating in the successful introduction of new sustainable energy systems. They are not only able to rate the sustainability, but can also consider the energy systems' operating efficiency, availability and safety in a appropriate way.
