Introduction

The Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg (H-BRS) was founded in 1995. It is a dynamic and research-driven university with almost 8,000 students, approximately 145 professors and about 220 research associates. They are supported by more than 200 highly qualified lecturers from the fields of academia, business and industry. An additional 175 employees work for the Administration, the Library and the Language Centre. The University campus is located in Hennef, Rheinbach and Sankt Augustin. In Bonn, the University of Applied Sciences runs the B-IT Universities Institute of the Bonn-Aachen International Center for Information Technology jointly with Bonn University and Aachen Technical University (RWTH). The University Development Plan contains the strategic objectives that our University intends to achieve by 2015 as well as the concrete measures taken to reach these goals - with the main motive being sustainability.

Studying at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University

At the H-BRS you can currently choose from 26 practically-oriented study programmes on the basis of the latest research findings. The University's professors have professional experience of both business and academia. Our excellent infrastructure and our well-equipped laboratories are just as integral to our offer as our numerous PC workstations, our university-wide W-LAN, our modern University and District Library and our active campus life.

From the University into the world

With a view to the changing requirements of the job market, the H-BRS sustainably supports periods of study abroad. Summer Schools are already suitable for students during their early semesters; they are mainly subsidised by the University's Fund-Raising Association. It is compulsory to study at least one foreign language. The Language Centre, which is an integral part of the University, offers approximately 25 languages, with a focus on technical language. The Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences cooperates with over 60 foreign universities in about 30 countries. In 2014, the proportion of international students enrolled at the H-BRS was roughly 16 %.

The international program 'Autonomous Systems' offers multi-faceted training in the fields of artificial intelligence and robotics, spanning a whole range of issues involved in the field.... [-]
