Since 2003 the DIU has intensified its international activities in order to attract foreign students to study here. The main focus is on the 20 partner universities in China. In order to guarantee a high standard in the selection of students, intense discussions and a negotiation of the mutual interests are essential on location. As a result the “China Competence Team” (CCT), consisting of members of the DIU and TUDIAS, has been to China on several occasions. The aim of these trips was the establishment of a cooperation network as well as an intensification of cooperation with partner institutions such as in Tianjin, Tangshan, Wuhan, Guilin, Chengdu, Chongqing and Nanchang. Successful offers of specially designed studies programs for students from Africa, Russia and Poland. The participants’ feedback was extremely positive, and the wish for an extension of such programs was expressed.

Over 100 international students have registered for the English-language MBA course in Logistics Management. The imparting of theoretical and practical subject-specific knowledge was complemented by discussions with experts in the respective fields as well as several company excursions.

The high level of flexibility of the DIU in being able to offer customized international further education programs in English has proven its worth, thus enabling the DIU to offer up-to-date, scientific and field relevant subjects, and offer them in the form of postgraduate educational and further educational projects.
