Overview

Founded as the Imperial University of Peking in 1898 and renamed in 1912, Peking University is recognized not only as the supreme centre of learning in China but also as one of the most important universities in Asia and the world.

As the business school of Peking University, the Guanghua School of Management (GSM) was established in December 1993 through the merger of the Department of Economic Management and the Center for Management Science. Originally called the School of Business Administration of Peking University, its name changed in September 1994 in gratitude of a generous donation made by the Guanghua Education Foundation.

GSM now has 115 full-time faculty members, providing bachelor’s, master’s, doctorate, MPAcc, MBA and EMBA education based on a rigorous curriculum and current academic research. The school also provides customized internal training for employees of large multinational and local companies, as well as the Executive Development Program (EDP) for top executives.

GSM has established exchange programs and extensive cooperation with110 universities in other countries. Through such relationships, GSM continues to expand its international network, consistently strengthening its global presence to maintain a world-class educational practice.

Following recognition by various international management councils such as AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), GMAC (Graduate Management Advisory Council), EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development), and PIM (Partnership in International Management), in April 2010 GSM was approved for certification from EQUIS (The European Quality Improvement System), further accelerating the Guanghua School of Management closer towards the goal of building a fully internationalized, world-class institution for business education.
