Simon Fraser University was the first university to establish a presence in downtown Vancouver in 1989. Continuing SFU's tradition of preserving Vancouver's heritage, the Segal Graduate School of Business -- western Canada's first dedicated centre for graduate business education - is a distinctive venue for scholars, students, business and industry leaders to convene, teach, learn and explore the latest management concepts. It is home to all of SFU Business graduate programs, as well as to new specialized research centres, two of which have been funded:
- CMA Centre for Strategic Change and Performance Management
- CIBC Centre for Corporate Governance and Risk Management
Since the creation of Canada's first Executive MBA in 1968, SFU Business has championed lifelong learning, productive change and the need to be innovative as we deliver research and teaching that makes an impact. That we have achieved some measure of success is confirmed with the announcement that SFU Business has been accredited by the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), a globally recognized accrediting agency for business schools. Fewer than 10% of business schools worldwide carry the AACSB international accreditation.
At SFU Business, we're committed to research and teaching that make an impact; to creating and communicating knowledge that builds better leaders and better organizations; and working with these leaders and organizations to enrich the knowledge and capabilities of the communities we live and operate within.
