The MSE Program provides formal training and tools relative to feasibility, planning and implementation of a new business venture as well as the development of the knowledge, attitudes and skills of entrepreneurs. There are 12 courses, 4 credits each, taught face-to-face by DePaul professors who come from Chicago for that purpose. The courses are varied and they emphasize Management, Operations Management, and Financial Accounting & Social Entrepreneurship. Each month, one course is taught in 3 weeks, 30 contact hours spread over the 3 weeks; 2 weekdays (from 6-9:30pm) and 1 weekend, usually Friday ( 8am to 3:30pm) During this course, there are assignments, quizzes, mid-term and Final exams.... Masters of Science in Finance (MSF) The MSF combines professional practice in the Financial world with Academic Knowledge. The program is structured to develop highly qualified financial management professionals who are able to evaluate financial instruments, create solutions to financial problems, mitigate corporate risk and improve investment decision making. There are 12 courses, 4 credits each, taught face-to-face by DePaul professors who come from Chicago for that purpose. The courses are varied and they emphasize finance, risk return, value formation, interest rates, and other financial theories. It provides a solid understanding of the techniques and practices of modern finance. That is why the most recent books are used and the Professors combine theoretical knowledge and practical applications since they have significant work experience in key corporate positions before joining DePaul. Each month, one course is taught in 3 weeks, 30 contact hours spread over the 3 weeks; 2 weekdays (from 6-9:30pm) and 1 weekend, usually Friday ( 8am to 3:30pm) During this course, there are assignments, quizzes, mid-term and Final exams. The set of modules includes both HR “content” courses in all functional areas of the Human Resources field, including Strategic Human Resource Management, Recruitment and Selection, Training and Career Development, Compensation, and Performance Appraisal, and key “process” oriented; skill building modules in areas such as Negotiation Skills, Change Management and Leadership. Additional courses which round out the program include modules in Behavior in Organizations, Legal and Ethical Environment, Management of Information Technology, and Strategic Planning.
