The Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics has a rich heritage of over 100 years of achievement and an international reputation for excellent research.

One of UWA’s founding faculties, the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics has educated Rhodes Scholars, Fulbright Scholars, Eureka Prize winners, CEOs and seven of Australia’s most influential engineers, according to Engineers Australia rankings.

The Faculty is home to approximately 380 staff and 3500 students—270 of whom are completing a higher degree by research, 300 studying postgraduate coursework programs and more than 2900 enrolled in undergraduate courses.

The Master of Engineering in Oil and Gas provides a comprehensive skill set for engineering graduates seeking employment in the global oil and gas industry. Designed in collaboration with our industry partners to match current energy trends, the course is in sync with the rapidly expanding natural gas and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) industries in Western Australia and is unique in its focus on downstream oil and gas processing. Students will develop professional levels of skill in a range of key areas including petroleum engineering, gas economics, investment strategies and liabilities, work-flow concepts, and current production and processing technologies. A particular focus is placed on natural gas, both its extraction and subsequent conversion to Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). Business-orientated units will cover the principles of project planning and project management within the managerial context of the oil and gas industry.
