Your understanding of strategic IT management, business and IT ethics, as well as social issues such as sustainability, will support this work.
You can acquire both the core skills in computing and develop contemporary specialist skills through our computing pathways. You need not have a computing background to succeed, but you must be motivated. You’ll need to be competent in using information technology, with an aptitude for developing high-level technical skills. With a blend of theory, tools, methods and management techniques, you learn to create and effectively deploy software products.
You design, build, test and evaluate applications. Your work rests on an understanding of professional project management, ethics and quality issues. This provides you with a comprehensive and well-balanced perspective, preparing you for an exciting career in the industry.
You are encouraged to build on your previous background, perhaps using it as the base for particular projects or assignments. You benefit by drawing on your own experiences and those of the teaching staff, external contacts and fellow students.
