The Master of Health Administration degree is offered in an executive-style format, designed for working professionals seeking to attain leadership positions in health care industry. The executive-style format includes a combination of blended/on-line courses together with traditional seated courses offered in the evenings. Why a master's in health administration? An MHA degree focuses on the development of business leadership skills and knowledge specific to the health care field The coursework is focused on health care policy, a core area for health care professionals Classes consist of other health care professionals and are facilitated by faculty with extensive experience in the health care field You will have the opportunity to learn skills that will help to improve the operations of health care organizations Accelerated MHA Option Undergraduate majors in the College of Business may apply for admission to the Master of Health Administration program during the second semester of the junior year. If accepted, up to 6 hours of 600- or 700-level COB classes taken in the senior year may be counted toward both the undergraduate and graduate degrees. As an MHA graduation requirement, student exercising the accelerated MHA option will be required to have had one year of professional experience or a 3 hours internship. Before enrolling in a course that will apply to both the undergraduate program and the master's program an undergraduate student must: 1). be accepted into the accelerated program and 2). receive prior approval from the graduate advisor, department head of the undergraduate program, and the Dean Of the Graduate College. This is done by using Mixed Credit form. Acceptance into the program and all approvals must be complete prior to the end of the Change of Schedule Period for the courses(s).
