Part time Masters in Public Administration in Houston in USA. The Master of Public Policy and Administration (MPPA) degree program provides a flexible and high-quality graduate education that prepares students for careers in leadership and management in public service or nonprofit administration. The MPPA provides students with three specific track options in order to tailor the degree to specific student interests and/or needs. These tracks are: Generalist, Public Management, and Public Policy. The Generalist Track is a tailored mix of courses. The Public Management Track emphasizes the fundamentals of Public Administration. The Public Policy Track stresses the interdisciplinary nature of policy analysis. Degree Requirements MPPA students will choose one of three tracks for the MPPA degree: Generalist, Public Management, or Public Policy. Students are required to take 36 credit hours in the program. Thirty-three credit hours will be within the MPPA core and degree tracks. In addition, students must complete either a thesis or a professional report in order to fulfill the requirements for the MPPA degree program. Career Possibilities The MPPA degree will prepare graduates to become managers or analysts at all levels of government – local, state, federal, and international – and in domestic non-profit organizations or international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs). In governments, graduates work as managers and analysts in executive agencies, as staff members for legislatures, and as court administrators. Admission Admission decisions are based on a combination of your undergraduate GPA, letters of recommendation, work history and an essay describing your academic goals and interests. GRE scores are required unless you have a graduate degree. International applicants must also submit the following: 1) Proof of English proficiency: International applicants (except those who are from countries where English is the only official language, those who have earned degrees from regionally-accredited U.S. institutions, or those who have earned degrees in countries where English is the official language of instruction) are required to submit proof of English proficiency.
