Este máster surge a partir del programa de doctorado interuniversitario denominado Psicología del Trabajo y las Organizaciones (POT), que recibió la Mención de Calidad por el Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia (MCD2003-00035), y en el que la UJI participó en colaboración con otras 4 universidades españolas (Universitat de València, Universidad de Sevilla, Universidad Complutense de Madrid y Universitat de Barcelona) y 3 extranjeras (Utrecht University, University of Amsterdam and Gronningen University, NL). Este programa de doctorado interuniversitario tuvo una duración de 4 años y en todos ellos recibió la mención de calidad. Como desarrollo de este programa de Doctorado Interuniversitario, surgió el Máster Universitario de Psicología del Trabajo, de las Organizaciones y en Recursos Humanos que se aprobó en el 2007 como máster oficial (aprobado por el Decreto 31/2007, de 16 de marzo, del Consell de la Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV núm. 5.474, 21/3/2007), y se verifica como Máster Universitario en el 2010 (B.O.E. núm. 292, 3/12/2010). El máster obtiene en el 2007 la Mención de calidad del doctorado por el MEC (MCD2007-00068), en julio del 2011 el Ministerio emite un informe favorable de mención de excelencia (puntuación de 89 sobre 100 puntos) y en junio 2013 la Agencia Valenciana de Evaluación y Prospectiva (AVAP; Agència Valenciana d’Avaluació i Prospectiva) realiza un informe de evaluación del protocolo de seguimiento de los títulos universitarios oficiales de la Comunidad Valenciana con una valoración global de EXCELENTE. El máster que presentamos es una transformación de este máster anterior Universitario de Psicología del Trabajo, de las Organizaciones y en Recursos Humanos. La necesidad de un Máster en Psicología del Trabajo, de las Organizaciones y en Recursos Humanos, se manifiesta en las demandas que se plantean a dicha disciplina y que tienen su origen en las profundas transformaciones en el ámbito del trabajo y de la empresa, y en especial a la importancia que ejerce la Psicología de la Salud Ocupacional en el contexto laboral y extra-laboral.
