En las últimas décadas, la importancia de la traducción y la interpretación se percibe en nuestra sociedad de manera más clara que en épocas anteriores. Esta mayor visibilidad del fenómeno ha ido acompañada de un crecimiento de la demanda de profesionales y de su consecuencia natural, la implantación de programas de formación de traductores e intérpretes en las universidades. Pero estos programas necesitan el complemento de titulaciones de postgrado que preparen a las licenciadas y licenciados universitarios (en Traducción e Interpretación o en materias afines) para la investigación. Por tanto, el objetivo general de este máster es formar investigadoras e investigadores en el ámbito de la traductología que conozcan las últimas aportaciones teóricas, que sepan aplicar los recursos documentales y las nuevas tecnologías a la investigación en traductología y que conozcan sus ámbitos de especialización, con el fin de llevar a cabo un trabajo de investigación original en el seno del máster y, ulteriormente (en su caso), una tesis doctoral.
