Languages: German and French The Erasmus Master Mundus “German and French Philosophy in the European Context” (EuroPhilosophie) offers to the best students worldwide a specialized advanced course of study of two years in the fields of German and French philosophy and their interaction in Europe’s intellectual and cultural space. Over the course of two years, the students selected by the EuroPhilosophie Selection Commitee study for one to two semesters in three of the 9 universities associated in this programme. The EuroPhilosophie Consortium is formed by 6 European and 3 Extra-European universities (Université Toulouse Jean-Jaurès, Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn , Bergische Universität Wuppertal , Université catholique de Louvain , Universidade de Coimbra, Univerzita Karlova v Praze, Hosei University , University of Memphis, Universidade Federal de Sao Carlos). Upon success in the final examinations, each student is awarded a Master’s degree from each of the three universities participating in the Consortium EuroPhilosophie. Grants Each year, the EuroPhilosophie Selection Committee selects about 30 students who can apply for a study grant depending on their country of origin: Students from ERASMUS + Member Countries (member states of the EU + Iceland, Liechtenstein, Macedonia, Norway and Turkey): 14 800 € per year, out of which 1 800 € per year are paid for tuition fees. Students from ERASMUS + Partner Countries: between 20 900 € and 21 900 € per year, out of which 6 400 € per year are paid for tuition fees. The number of grants from the ERASMUS + funds is limited. Erasmus Master Mundus EuroPhilosophie also offers special scholarship for students from specific countries. Students enrolling in the Master’s Program EuroPhilosophie must have a Licence or a Bachelors degree in Philosophy (180 ECTS) or equivalent qualifications. A command of written and spoken German and/or French is also required. For students who have a written and spoken command of one of the two languages only, a required language course will be given as part of the Master Mundus program. [-]

The Laurea Magistrale in Foreign Languages and Literature is an advanced academic programme which offers high-level specialization in two languages chosen from English, Spanish, German and French, together with an in-depth study of literature, linguistics and history. An induction course on undertaking research in the Humanities is held at the beginning of each academic year.

We welcome interdisciplinary research involving more than one department: recent postgraduates have, for example, worked on topics combining German with Film and Visual Culture, Politics and Sociology.
