Also, the students are given the opportunities to conduct research projects to solve the issues which have been identified by the students. Industrial Visits Field Work is a part of the curriculum in all the semesters in Faculty of Social Work. The field work carries a total of six credits in each semester. The Field work is focused on rural villages, NGO’s, hospitals, Industries and social activities each semester. The students are exposed to social issues and the problems faced by people. Also, the students are given the opportunities to conduct research projects to solve the issues which have been identified by the students. Rural Camp The rural camp was organized by Faculty of Social Work in collaboration with Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC), at Panandhro village, Kutchh in November 2015 for 7 days. The camp was organized for MSW and MSW (HRM) so as to provide the students an opportunity to gain practical skills and be exposed to the rural communities in different district. The students of Parul University had created Awareness drive on Health and Personal Hygiene, First- Aid , Literacy through street plays, skits and FGD-Focused Group Discussions on broad topics like Family Planning, Sex Education, reproductive health, Entrepreneurship Development and PRA-Participatory Rural Appraisal & Bio-gas plant. A Study and survey was also carried out on the Education level and socio-economic profile amongst the villagers. The students were given exposure to observe mining activities at Lignite project by GMDC and Expert Talks. The objectives of the Rural Camp was to get hands on experience on Research methodology, to understand the Rural Setting of the different districts and different cultural diversity and their social issues within the state, to understand the process of planning and organizing the Camp and experience group living, analysis and Interpretation of the data collected, Preparation of report.
