To better understand the local energy challenges in the framework of the German Energy Transition Field, visits will also be organised in co-operation with local institutions and companies. Masters 2016/2017 in Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur France. The Mediterranean branch of the Master in Advanced European and International Studies (MAEIS) is targeted at students who have completed their undergraduate studies. Its objective is to give students an overarching, encompassing vision of the political, social, economic, and cultural challenges of today’s world. The Master’s programme follows an original approach which distinguishes it from other Master’s courses in EuroMediterranean Studies and International Relations: The MAEIS is an international, interdisciplinary and itinerant programme which aims to educate the next generation of EuroMediterranean decisionmakers. Following the slogan “Learning and living the Mediterranean”, the participants rotate each trimester, moving their place of studies from Nice to Tunis and then to Istanbul. The MAEIS is a one year programme, subdivided into three terms. Degree and recognition Students who successfully complete the programme are awarded two certifications at the end of the academic year: Master in Advanced European and International Studies: This is the diploma of CIFE, certifying the successful completion of the academic curriculum and granting 60 ECTS credits at Master level. The degree qualification Chargé de Mission en Organisations Européennes et Internationales (Policy Officer in European and International Organisations): This qualification is recognised by the French state as a degree at Master level (level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework EQF). Admission requirements This graduate programme is aimed at students who have already completed a first degree (minimum three years of study at university level). Furthermore, students must have an active knowledge of English and French. You can find more detailed information on the application procedure and apply online at www.ie-ei.eu. Deadline for applications: 15 June of the current year Teaching modules Conflict Management and Peace Making The Mediterranean is a case study par excellence for Peace and Conflict Studies. In the last two decades Mediterranean societies have been significantly affected by intergroup violence and interstate conflicts: from the Western Balkans to Cyprus, from Israel to Palestine, from Libya to Syria. Sustainable Development and Globalisation The 21st century and especially the Mediterranean face unprecedented economic, environmental and social challenges, as the globalised economic development exerts increased pressure on limited resources, deteriorates the environment and creates growing inequalities. Regional Integration and Transformation The EU has become a role model of regional integration. How is the dynamic architecture of European institutions, including European Neighbourhood Policy, functioning? To what extent do the Arab League or the Union for the Mediterranean follow a similar logic of regional integration? How can we explain the intraregional differences in the Southern Mediterranean since the Arab Spring? Mediterranean Politics and Societies Migration, Gender, and Youth are policy fields that all Mediterranean Societies have in common, but approach differently. At the crossroads of theory and practice, this policy oriented module proposes solutions to the historical, social and cultural challenges Mediterranean societies face today. Project Management This module equips the participants with the professional skills and competences that will enable them to work in the field of EuroMediterranean cooperation. They will participate to negotiation and mediation trainings, simulation games and follow workshops on project cycle management and intercultural communication. Overview of the academic year The first term (October to December) starts in the European Union, in Nice, France. It encompasses classes on the basics of the five teaching modules. Studying in France helps students to analyse the EuroMediterranean relations and regional integration from an EU perspective. The second term (January to March) starts off in Tunis, Tunisia. Experts from the region and of different disciplines will analyse EuroMediterranean challenges in times of transformation and globalisation. A special focus will be put on youth policies in the Mediterranean. Studying in Tunisia will provide the students with a unique experience of a historic democratisation process that turns the country into a role model throughout the MENA region. The programme concludes (April to July) in Istanbul, Turkey at our partner university, Istanbul Bilgi University, one of the best private universities in the Eastern Mediterranean. A special focus will be given to Sustainable Development and Climate Action, as well as to Project Management classes. Students will have the opportunity to advance in their research work, as the months of May and June are left at their disposal to work on their thesis. The programme concludes with the defence of the thesis and oral exams. With their graduation, students become part of CIFE’s wide Alumni network. [-]

IAAD and the Écoles de Condé announce the signing of an important strategic partnership, which will result in the integration of these two units within a wider reality. Masters 2016/2017 in Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur France. Master program in INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE - New forms of contemporary living IAAD and the Écoles de Condé announce the signing of an important strategic partnership, which will result in the integration of these two units within a wider reality. Among the joint projects, new courses, new teaching models and new locations will be considered in order to increase opportunities for students. Through this partnership, unique in its kind, the two institutions will give a new dimension to their educational projects which will give a truly European value: at the beginning of a.y. 2013-2014, the courses France-Italy and Italy-France will be accessible to students of both schools. This agreement immediately allows IAAD students to access the Strategic Master of Écoles de Condé - as Communication, Architecture and Art Direction of Trade Luxury, Interior Design and common areas and the overall research and innovation - and French students to access to IAAD specializations - such as Transportation Design and Industrial Design. Inside the Écoles de Condé, the new courses will incorporate the knowledge of the language and culture of Italian design, improving the courses offered under the various Bachelor and Master of Design and Graphic Arts (design of spaces, the product of fashion and graphic design), and gradually form a proper area of Italian design. The Master examines the space designed both in its aesthetic and functional aspects and in those, less obvious, methods of use and symbolic values. It emerges a dual path, starting from the instinct of men to make room, placing its own habitat, investigates the performative value of built, depositary of the fundamental values of the community. Suggestions and theoretical stimuli become the material on which it's possible to develop the project activity focusing all attention on making concrete what elective scope of a designer. Objectives and teaching methodology Design is experiencing a time of strong momentum and spreading. The rapid evolution of production methods and lifestyles increasingly requires adaptability and innovation. Anticipating and stimulating change has become one of the main drivers of growth and competitive factor of contemporary economies. The traditional disciplinary boundaries are overwhelmed by the need for greater interaction, ability to work in groups and technology transfer. Designers are required to know new tools of representation and sharing of information as well as to improve skills of listening to the needs. However, new opportunities open for designers who are asked to draw on the wealth of traditional knowledge without conditions or obligations formal style. The product of creativity, also applied to a theme as old as the living, can become a software that helps us orient ourselves or an interface to manage a home automation application but in any case it must be time to take advantage of new knowledge to improve the welfare and meet the need for comfort. It seems clear, even from this brief introduction, that the master is not intended only to transfer a pre-established knowledge and consolidated experience as the use of techniques, materials typical of other fields such as literature, chemistry, neurosciences, cinema, computer science. Finally we want to give space to the themes typical of professional practice and management of the project and to the team of employees that the customer, considered part of the quality of work of the designer. In addition to the conscience of the economics of the project, students IAAD must acquire the ability to do marketing of themselves - essential to present and understand their work and their skills. During the course, great importance is given to presentations and design contest: students are encouraged to make presentations of their work and supported to participate in national and international contests: the projects must not only meet the designers, but they must be able to be appreciated and understood by juries of experts and the public. FACULTY Professionals working in the respective academic subject sectors, who know the main players of the sector and the skills needed to be competitive in the job market, make up IAAD teaching staff. Lecturers will be instrumental in helping students improve and comprehend which aspects of one's professionalism need to be perfected to enter the job market with a lead. Contributions of excellence IAAD believes in the value of cultural and experiential contamination, opening the doors of the university to professionals known nationally and internationally, experts who contribute to the didactic, leading workshops, seminars and lectures. Students will have the unique opportunity to interact with "gurus" of the sector, who will join IAAD faculty as Visiting professors. Coordinator of the master Federico De Giuli Born in 1966, Federico De Giuli is Architect and deals with architectural design and project management of recovery. He is partner and director of the company DORAPAL Spa that deals in the business of real estate development and restoration.
