As a professional of the image, the stylist experiments, gives colour to the Spirit of Time, launches and manages transversal collaborations with designers, video makers, art directors, photographers and artists. Organisational skills, research methodology, sociological overview, a taste for the erudite quotation as well as for the subcultural one, complete the figure of the stylist along with the propensity to perform their personal vision and the lucid dream that fuels their creativity. DESCRIPTION The program includes classes with resident teachers from the industry, international guest lecturers, a five-day exchange program to Paris or London, workshops and field trips to Milan/Florence fashion weeks, the attendance of the Venice Biennale and the regular use of a professional photography studio. Fashion Styling is very intensive, structured around four educational levels (research, storytelling, icon making and applied release) and develops vertically through six possible career paths (styling a collection, styling a fashion event, digital styling, styling a store, editorial styling and personal styling), each one featuring at least one individual project. The advanced level of this course is guaranteed by a limited number of participants tutored in the creation of a professional portfolio to be presented to a company. Applicants with no experience but with a significant degree in art, fashion design, photography or communication will be considered. English speaking and mandatory attendance. The Master’s program teaches you how to interpret, design and produce collections based on the long-standing, sophisticated Italian traditions of craftsmanship. You learn how to maintain artistic integrity in your work, while respecting the individual styles of other persons involved in the creative process. You must be able to effectively present your style and collaborate with different brands, manufacturers, artisans, and fashion designers. The Master will foster your personal and cultural growth, right through to the creation and professional presentation of an innovative accessories collection that reflects both the spirit of the season and the mind of a true professional designer. DESCRIPTION The master’s programme takes you through the various stages involved in the development of a genuine Footwear, Bags and Accessories collection. In the first part of the course, personal vision is strengthened through research into cultural aspects of History, Ethnics, Contemporary Arts and Trends. Your illustration, drawing techniques, computer graphics and styling skills will be characterised and personalised. You will learn how to master technical and creative skills such as Pattern Making, Prototyping, Computer Aided Design and Artisan Techniques as well as high standards of craftsmanship, innovative design and management and production of prototypes and technical specifications that can ultimately be used for production. Strategic and managerial skills will be practised through workshops and group sessions in which product development scenarios will be analysed and applied. You will work in team together with artisans, pattern cutters, art directors, and marketing and communication managers to develop products on different projects following a brief, giving you the possibility to broaden your competences as a team player. Essential issues of Collection Management will be applied such as Line Planning, Supply Chain, Production Standards, Budget Control, Pricing and Customer Relationships. You will learn how to set up a Fashion Business, write a business plan, find partners, and relate to press and clients. During the course we will tutor participation at international fashion talent competitions. At mid-term a seminar will be organised with fashion professionals. You will present projects and collections as a team and individually as a designer. Subsequently you will be taken through all the stages of analysing resources of inspiration, creating and producing patterns and prototypes and manage the creation of a 14 piece collection of shoes and accessories with the production of 5 items. The course gives an intensive training and shaping of personal style as a Fashion Designer and aims to stimulate personal and cultural development leading to the creation and presentation of a fashion collection in a professional and effective manner.
