The primary objective of M. Tech in Engineering Design (Infrastructure) (MIED) is to cater to this demand of infrastructure industry and produce professionals with specific skill sets aligned with industry needs. The two-year program leading to award of Master of Technology in Infrastructure Engineering Design is designed to enhance skills & knowledge of structural design for the students and working professionals in the construction and civil engineering sector. Curriculum MIED program aims to combine infrastructure engineering and design enabling students to add complementary aspects such as infrastructure planning, financing, and management. A student potentially can develop focus through verticals and horizontals. Vertically, the sector is of primary interest and the choice of focus area follows. Alternatively, a student could develop skills horizontally, in which the focus area is of primary interest covering more than one sector. The course curriculum is designed to encourage students’ learning by a mix of lecture courses and hand-on application, via studio courses. The lecture courses focus on building theoretical understanding with the scope to explore its empirical application in studio courses. Major portion of the mandatory courses credits are studios courses where students work on real-life like contexts, emphasizing the importance of practice. CEPT pedagogy includes a wide variety of courses with significant emphasis on practical applications through hands-on studio courses projects (deigned to create real-life like situations) and independent dissertation. Leading infrastructure professionals are invited to deliver guest lectures and engage in interactive discussions with students. Admissions and Prerequisites In the first stage of scrutiny, all applications received will be scrutinized for eligibility based on information provided in the online application forms. All candidates who meet eligibility criteria will be considered for stage 2 (entrance exam). Subsequently, a shortlist of 300-350 candidates are cleared for the stage which includes interviews (in person or via tele conference). Final merit list is prepared based on the academic performance in UG program, score in entrance exam, score in interview, and total months of professional experience. Applicants for the M.Tech. program in the general category should have a minimum of 55 % aggregate marks and those in the reserved categories should have a minimum of 50 % aggregate marks in Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering / Construction Technology / Architecture / Environmental Engineering from a recognized University / Institution.
