The cycle of studies leading to the Master's degree in Special Education, Area of Specialization in Early Intervention, aims at preparing master's students to adopt innovating models and practices at the level of Early Intervention. With this master's degree, students not only develop skills in the area of Early Intervention, but also become empowered to intervene in practices related to the care of children at risk and their families, by providing them with knowledge on: the assessment of children and families; the understanding of existing organizational models of the Early Intervention Programs for children at risk from 0 to 3 and from 3 to 6 years; the practice of interdisciplinary teamwork; the work with families; the development, implementation and evaluation of Individualized Family Support Plans (IFSP) and Individual Education Programme (IEP); the educational research practice and the management and coordination of interdisciplinary services and in-service training.
