Development Studies is a vibrant field concerned with processes of change such as social and economic, political and cultural and the major policy challenges that present the efforts to overcome poverty and insecurity. The program provides a stable interdisciplinary social science formation and develops students’ capacities for independent and critical inquiry.

The Faculty of Political Science, Philosophy and Communication Sciences is the youngest and most dynamic of the faculties of the West University of Timisoara, being created in 1999. Most of our students study international relations, public relations, communication and journalism. Teaching takes place in Romanian, English and German. The faculty has nine bachelor programs, six master programs and two doctoral programs, in political science and in philosophy.
