Audience The program is designed for candidates who have a first-level degree in interior design, design, architecture, engineering, visual arts, or related disciplines; who wish to pursue advanced specialization; and who wish to expand their skills using new tools in the field of interior design. Outcome During this degree program, students will: Develop a professional interior design proposal, accounting for aesthetic, functional, and ergonomic issues within project constraints. Understand and re-interpret the multidisciplinary Italian approach to space setup and design. Program The Master in Interior & Living Design program aims to develop professionals who combine technical design savvy with cultural sensitivity, strategic thinking, teamwork skills, knowledge of project management processes, and the ability to manage deadlines. The program is workshop-based, supported by seminars, lectures, tutorials, and fieldwork. Industry professionals, the course leader, and project leaders guide students via individual coaching and project mentorship. The program consists of four main modules, each of which includes a two-week course and six-week workshop. The modules are followed by a two-month internship period and a final portfolio presentation. The modular structure is customizable, allowing flexibility and variety to better serve each student’s needs and goals. Analyze user activity and social behavior to solve product design problems; use narrative design tools, such as storytelling, storyboards, and video. Investigate ways in which a company can ignite innovations in product design and industrial processes by adopting advanced production technologies and utilizing new materials. Portfolio The final element of the program is the portfolio review. You will present your portfolio of work completed during the year in front of an exam board for evaluation. Internship There is no better way for you to gain experience in your field than actually working in it. The internship is a chance for you to work onsite for a company or design studio in your field of interest—while applying all the strategies you learned in the classroom and in workshops. Alternatively, you can complete an intensive project in collaboration with a company on the Domus Academy campus. Either way, you’ll get an inside perspective on how your industry really works, and you can make important connections that will further your career. The internship lasts two months and comes at the end of your year of studies. 100% of our students participate in the internship, including non-EU students, who may extend their visas for up to one year to complete this portion of their studies. The Master degree in Food Design develops the necessary skills to give a creative contribution to an increasingly growing sector, of which Italy constitutes one of the main benchmarks known worldwide. It is an opportunity not only for students holding a degree in design, marketing and communication, but also for managers and professionals working in the field. The programme combines a focus on food-related markets with the design approach and methodologies. This creates a food designer who is able to manage the design: of processes, methods and spaces where products are processed, distributed and consumed; of food in terms of its aesthetics, communication and representation; of equipment and tools used to prepare and consume food; of all the communication activities implemented for the promotion of food products. The academic activities encompass lessons, design workshops and seminars with the leaders of the food and agriculture industry and of the design field: entrepreneurs, managers, journalists, food critics, designers, architects, publishers and chefs. The structure of the course also comprises visits to food companies, concept stores, restaurants as well as important gastronomic fairs and events. After the end of the course, students will have an internship experience in a company, agency or firm working in the field. The Master is held in collaboration with important companies and firms of the food industry. ENTRY The Master’s is open to Italian and foreign graduates coming from various scientific disciplines, social sciences and liberal arts. The program has a limited number of places available.
