MSc Computing (Dependable Software) aims to develop your understanding of advanced software engineering principles to prepare you for a career in building correct, robust and secure software applications. This specialist route enables you to develop high-level software engineering skills, combining the theory, tools, methods and management techniques necessary to create dependable software products. This is a challenging course, looking at the influence and evolution of modern programming languages, processes and tools, examining the latest research and practice. This in-depth focus is balanced with a broader treatment of IT project management, database management, ethical and quality issues, digital innovation, the human-computer interface and research methods to provide a well-rounded education. You should have a good Honours degree with knowledge of procedural programming. We encourage you to build upon your previous expertise and interests, perhaps using them as a basis for your dissertation.
