The growing cultural value attributed to the existing building and the economic and environmental benefits associated with its conservation are expanding this market, whose further development fuels a demand for high-profile skills, able to meet its specific characteristics and constraints. This is a technical master's programme, and students are expected to be familiar with mathematical language and computer science. Objectives The master's programme aims to provide students with: A solid background in models and algorithms for the analysis, design and development of intelligent interactive systems. An entry point into high-level research in the field in which they make their contributions. This is a field that will continually demand specialists in order to make the transition to sustainable road and rail transport in the future. Programme outline The programme includes two specializations; Road vehicles and Rail vehicles. The Road vehicle specialization includes all road vehicles with a main focus on cars, trucks and buses. In the Rail vehicle specialization, the system aspect is very important, as the different parts of a railway system – vehicle, track, electrification and signalling – all strongly influence each other. The Vehicle Engineering Programme is taught in English and is based on lectures, assignments, simulations and experiments. Degree project To finalize your studies you perform an independent thesis work during a five month period. This can either be performed at a university or, more commonly, at a company. The student is encouraged to actively search for a suitable thesis project in industry, and KTH will provide assistance and suitable points of contact. As one of the few computer science programs in Germany that are taught completely in English, the Master course „Intelligent Adaptive Systems“ prepares students for international research and professional work.
