Master of Social Work

A holder of the Master’s degree in Social Work qualification has acquired knowledge and skills, that allow her/him to perceive social phenomena in the context of their cultural values and society’s dynamics. The graduate has a strengthened (consolidated) methodology of quantitative and qualitative research. Can extend those skills to create and manage social programmes and projects dedicated to the optimization of social integration of social risk groups, such as disabled people. Moreover, the holder of the Master’s degree has strengthened social and personal competence, significant for the professional and scientific activities (such as creativity, initiative, social responsibility, and meta-learning).

Level 7 qualifications grant a possibility to realize oneself in the professional field of Social Work; to take administrative jobs related to the strategies of social services development and project writing, and to work in different social institutions rendering social services (to family, groups, communities) by providing the process with professional innovations and team work strategies.

Examination regulations, assessment and grading

The University applies cumulative grading in order to ensure objective evaluation, active students’ participation during the semester and their ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practice. Cumulative grading final evaluation consists of interim course assignments (test, individual work, paper, laboratory work defence, and etc.) and final exam grades. If the student fails the interim course assignments and does not make to transition grade−minimal grade of determined interim course assessments−he is not allowed to take the final exam. Each study programme is completed by defending final thesis (project) and (or) taking final exams.
