Master of Science in Business Management
The MScBM Programme specifically serves the needs of fresh graduates who aspire for a future business career, and potential business leaders early in their careers, developing them with the knowledge at Master’s level and assisting them in the acquisition of skills in general business and management.
Advanced business knowledge and skills
The Programme prepares participants to enter or advance in an executive career in business by developing knowledge and skills to a professional level. It is suitable for junior business executives or recent university graduates, which helps develop and refine their business knowledge, practical experience and personal skills. Besides graduates of business disciplines, non-business majors who wish to begin a business career are encouraged to apply.
MScBM Awards Scheme
Two MScBM award schemes are set up to reward outstanding students, including MScBM Entrance Award and Graduation Academic Awards.
Executive Development Series
The Executive Development Series is especially designed to amplify students’ formal learning. It involves seminars, corporate visits, management skills workshops and career development training.
The international exchange programme provides a valuable opportunity for students to broaden their horizon as well as to enhance cross-cultural communication.
Pursuing an MBA with exemptions
MScBM graduates may further pursue the HKBU MBA programme if they have fulfilled the working experience and other MBA entrance requirements. MScBM graduates can gain exemption of up to half of the HKBU MBA credit units, subject to certain conditions and approval process.
The MScBM Programme aims to enhance and broaden students’ knowledge in business and management.
Programme Learning Goals (LG)
LG1: Students will develop knowledge in major functional areas of modern business, with emphasis on the integration of the multiple dimensions of international business.
LG2: Students will develop ability to apply the knowledge and understanding of business and management to complex issues of modern days, both systematically and creatively, to improve business and management practice.
LG3: Students will be knowledgeable in major functional areas of modern business, with emphasis on the integration of the multiple dimensions of international business.
LG4: Students will acquire knowledge of business ethics, CSR and corporate sustainability issues affecting business.
The programme covers a diverse range of management and business disciplines. The curriculum (subject to University's approval) itself is flexible; students have the options of completing the programme in one-year full-time mode or two-year part-time mode.
(a) A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or comparable institution; or a professional qualification deemed to be equivalent;
(b) Good English proficiency (If English was not the medium of instruction for undergraduate studies, applicants are required to provide evidence of good English proficiency, e.g. with a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based) / 213 (computer-based) / 79 (internet-based) or equivalent qualifications;
(c) A satisfactory performance in the selection interview; and
(d) GMAT is not required but highly encouraged.
To further assist in the evaluation of applicants' qualification, applicants are required to supply the names of two referees qualified to provide information concerning the applicants' ability to complete the programme satisfactorily. Applicants should also submit a personal statement of not more than 500 words on their motivation to study the programme, as part of the application materials.

Tuition Fee & Financial Assistance
Tuition fee for 2014 intake is HK$178,000 (subject to University's approval): For Full-time mode students, tuition fee will be paid in 2 installments For Part-time mode students, tuition fee will be paid in 4 installments
Continued Education Fund (CEF)
The MScBM programme has been included in the reimbursable course list of CEF. Eligible applicants will be reimbursed for 80% of their fees, subject to a maximum sum of HK$10,000, on successful completion of one or more reimbursable modules forming part of the programme.
Non-means Tested Loan
Local students are eligible to apply for the Non-means Tested Loan Scheme provided by the Student Financial Assistance Agency of HKSAR.
