The Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc) provides non-accounting graduates with the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills in accounting. Upon completion, you will be eligible to enter the membership programs of CPA Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and the Institute of Public Accountants.
The MPAcc provides training in the technical aspects of accounting and develops skills in related disciplines such as finance, taxation, auditing and management. Students also develop a number of non-technical skills such as critical analysis, problem solving, teamwork and communication.
Accounting graduates pursue successful careers in fields such as financial reporting, management accounting, accounting information systems, auditing, taxation and financial management, and also provide business advisory services in professional practice, commerce, industry and government.
“Accounting is the language and basic tool of business. To me, the Master of Professional Accounting is not only a process to become more proficient in this “language” but a degree with a great number of possibilities in my future career route. It provided me with the practical skills and perspective needed to succeed in business, improved my communication skills and gave me the foundation I need to become a CPA.
Attracted by the reputation of the most beautiful campus in Australia, I spent a wonderful time at UWA. While enjoying the beautiful campus as well as excellent research facilities and extensive library resources, there was always a variety of attractive events on - seminars, lunch meetings, or public talks. Furthermore, there are a number of opportunities of campus recruitment from the Big Four, BHP Billiton, Wesfarmers and other outstanding companies around the world.”
